If you’re anything like me, you’ll have spent years searching for the best weight loss system. One that works quickly, effectively and doesn’t cost the earth. Since deciding dieting wasn’t working, I have tried a wide range of weight loss programmes, and can recall vividly those I thought to be most effective, best weight loss method. Then again, perhaps it’s what works best for the individual, and maybe thats why there are so many available routes all headed towards the same goal.
Since I was young I have always been overweight. As a result, I have spent most of my life looking for the best weight loss method for me. Since adolescence I have tried the cabbage soup, skim milk and banana, Atkin’s (twice), Weight Watchers and a range of other programmes. I’ve gone with low fat, low carb, low everything diets and even Overeater’s Anonymous.
I decided it was time to take action. I drew up a personal daily food plan and exercise schedule, combining elements that had worked from some of the best weight loss plans I had come across. I did my shopping at a healthy food store and made sure to cut out white flour and white sugar which both create cravings for food from their chemical manufacturing process. I ate loads of vegetables, protein, and lots of whole grain breads with each meal. On top of that, I walked 4 miles a day at a brisk pace, although I can assure you this was’nt easy.
I firstly managed to convince myself into walking a block and back, just something to get me out and get the blood pumping. The next day, I increased to walking two city blocks. The day after that, another block, and so on, until I was not only out walking briskly for over forty-five minutes, but I also craved the fresh air in the morning. I also helped to pass the time by listening to music with a strong, motivating beat and with lyrics to keep me thinking, and not thinking about the distance. For me, it was something to curb the complete boredom of exercise, which I felt was dull because there was nothing to think about when walking for miles or doing push-ups or whatever.
As they say in one program I have tried, “Take the best and leave the rest.” Research and experiment with what everyone claims to be the best weight loss programme and take the best bits for you. It may take months or maybe even years but it’ll be worth it in the long run to find the best weight loss programme with the best weight loss results for you.
It’s up to you to work it out – there’s loads of ‘the best weight loss programmes ever’ targeted to those overweight like us. If you take out the best bits, and take what’s right for you, you’ll surely see good results eventually.
